3D-Quest Erc ERC Starting Grant - Consolidator

3D-QUEST (3D-Quantum Integrated Optical Simulation)
Funding: 1.475.000 euro
ERC Starting Grants are financed by the European Research Council and aim to support up-and-coming research leaders who are about to establish a proper research team and to start conducting independent research in Europe.

The aim of 3D-QUEST is to develop and implement quantum simulation by exploiting 3-dimensional integrated photonic circuits. 3D-QUEST is structured to demonstrate the potential of linear optics to implement a computational power beyond the one of a classical computer.

Picque PICQUE - Photonic Integrated Compound Quantum Encoding
PICQUE is a Marie Curie Initial Training Network aiming at forming the new generation of quantum information scientists. PICQUE is at the core of European technological innovation. All the basic components of a photonic quantum processor will be addressed: generation, manipulation and detection of photon states. Particular attention will be devoted to potential applications and on how to interface all the different components PICQUE will establish a world-class training platform spreading around the highly interdisciplinary/inter-sectorial European-led area of quantum integrated photonics. By pushing the development of quantum optical technologies we foresee results of interest also for standard optical technologies.

"Advanced Quantum Simulation and Metrology" is a research project funded under the PRIN program of Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Università e della Ricerca of the Italian Government.


Picque QWAD - Quantum Waveguides Applications & Developments
QWAD is an FP7 FET STREP project funded by the European Union.

The idea is to develop and apply the technology of laser-written quantum waveguide devices. More specifically, QWAD will design novel structures tailored for high performance quantum simulation, for new classes of ready-made devices for secure communication, and for entanglement enhanced quantum sensing in lab-on-chip systems.

Phorbitech PHORBITECH is a European project funded under the FET-Open Programme within the 7FP Programme involving 6 European partners. PHORBITECH is working on the development of an optical toolbox of highly innovative optical components and devices for the full control of orbital angular momentum, including its generation, manipulation, transmission and detection.
